Roland Boileau Obituary

Roland Joseph Alfred Boileau
December 4, 1934  - March 19, 2024

Roland Joseph Alfred Boileau passed away peacefully at North Bay Regional Health Centre at the age of 89 on Tuesday March 19, 2024. Rolly is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Huguette Boileau. Dear father of five children, Joele (Dan Beaudry), Julie (Barry Callahan), Jill (Claude Paulin), John Boileau and Pierre Boileau (Laurene) all of North Bay. Devoted grandfather of fourteen grandchildren Mathieu, Mita, Jade, Blake, Joel, Kyle, Chad, Travis, Craig, Kimberly, Kayla, Brianne, Shane, Brady and two step-granddaughters Brittany and Devyn. He was also blessed with twenty-one great-grandchildren. Brother-in-law to Fern Boileau and predeceased by his siblings Ubald, Claudette, Annette and Gerry and also predeceased by son-in-law Robert Gibson.

Rolly had a long work history, starting with Garlands Beverages, Silverwoods, Johns Manville and NordFibre, not including his own business ventures. He was a man of many gifts and a jack of all trades.

Rolly will be remembered by his family with fond memories for his storytelling and his ability to find humour in everything. His charismatic personality brought a lot of joy and laughter to many gatherings. He is known for his great popcorn and tasty pancakes, and always made sure there was lots of food and beer.

He loved animals, especially his best friend Boots. He loved nature. He was an avid snowmobiler, boater, fisherman and hunter. The Stag Hunt Club was his haven where he enjoyed many adventures with the club members and especially with his beloved sons. His Talon Lake family cottage was the place that he cherished the most and where the best memories were made with all his family.

Rolly was the Dad we needed and the one who helped make us who we are today. He often boasted about his love for his wife and his family. We will forever remember him with love.

Respecting Rolly’s wishes, a family celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Bay Humane Society would be appreciated. Special thanks to the medical staff on D3 and PSW who provided excellent care.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
