Ronald F McDougal

On June 10, 2024, Ronald Fraser McDougal passed away peacefully in North Bay, Ontario at Water’s Edge Care Community in his 85th year.    Ron was born on January 15, 1939, in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Dear husband to Nancy of 53 years, father to Andrea Dupuis (Pierre) of Georgetown and Janice Godin (Chris) of Orillia.   Grandfather to Olivia, Caleb, Lucas and Hannah. Also survived by his brother Thomas (Lena) of Winnipeg, and sister Carole Hernder (Richard) of Edmonton.    Predeceased by his parents, Dr. Alexander and Evaline McDougal, half-sister Valeree Leach and baby niece Erin Hernder.

In 1962, after graduating from the University of Montana, Ron moved to Toronto to begin his career with the Government of Ontario.   The family moved to North Bay in 1989 after living in Oshawa for 16 years.  He retired from the Government after 30 years of service.

Ron was an enthusiastic athlete and enjoyed a variety of sports especially tennis and squash.

At Ron’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service.  For those who wish, a memorial donation may be made to an organization of their choice.
