Roy Romeo

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Romeo Roy, who was born on January 17th, 1939 and passed away peacefully at home on November 2nd, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends.

Romeo was the loving husband of Shirley (Monaghan), and the beloved father of Peter, Peggy (deceased) and Barbara (Bonnie Lou). He was a proud grandfather to Dustin (Sophie).

He was predeceased by his parents, Grace (nee Vachon) and Alfred Roy; his brother Earl (Janice deceased) and his sister Esther.

He is survived by his sisters Hilda (Lawrence deceased) and Helen (Jack deceased). He will be sorely missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Romeo was a vibrant and active man who found great joy in the outdoors. His true passion was camping and fishing and he could often be found near the water with a rod in hand and a smile on his face. Over the years, he also shared his love of sports and community by coaching broomball, baseball, and western riding. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him in these roles will remember his skill, dedication, and enthusiasm. Romeo will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His warmth, energy, and passion for life will live on in the hearts and memories of his family and friends.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, November 8th, 2025 at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport road, North Bay, Ontario, between 11:00 am until 1:00 pm with the service to follow at 1:00pm. 

Donations in memory of Romeo to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by his family.
