Ruth (McCullough) Watkins

Watkins, Ruth (McCullough) Jan. 21, 1934- Oct. 3, 2022

 With sadness in our hearts but joy in knowing Mom chose her way to leave us we announce her passing at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Monday October 3rd, 2022 in her 89th year.

Loving wife of the late Clifford Watkins. Ruth’s loving family attended her last family get together. Our Mom, Gramma, Great-Gramma, Aunt, Cousin and Best Friend is now at peace. Beloved mom of Tammy Rideout (John), Terri McQuaig (David), Tom Watkins (Ashley) and Tim Watkins (Kim).  She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Andrew, Brittany, Patrick, Kristen, Adam, Heather, Caleigh, Tye, Owen, Brittany, Kayla, Hunter, Rowyn, Hannah, Layne and Renly, Judah. Also remembered by cousins Wib and Gin McMullen, niece Joan Shrigley and best friend Ralph Getson.

Born in Acton on January 21, 1934, She was a Bell Telephone Operator for many years. A true animal lover and she loved her casino!  Always planning and loving large family get togethers, always complaining of the loudness, craziness affectionately referred to as “The Zoo”. Her sense of humor was infectious and always had a joke to tell.

Many, many thanks to Dr. Toth, Dr. Moore, the staff on C3 of the NBRHC, Dr. Mike Leckie you are our SUPERHERO- Rev. Ted Harrison, also the staff and tenants at Marina Point- Ruth’s home for the past 12 years.

Family receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd on Monday October 24th from 10am until time of service at 12pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Bay Humane Society, North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation or the C.N.I.B. will be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
