Sandra Gail Lalande (nee Sweezey) 86, passed away peacefully at Cassellholme Long Term Care Home, on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
Sandra, remembered as a shining light and eternal smiling face, in the lives of all who knew her, was born Nov 24, 1939 to the late Elsie and Newton Sweezey. Sandra enjoyed her North Bay childhood alongside brothers Bob and Ray Sweezey. Sandra is predeceased by the love of her life, Henry Cantin, brothers Bob and Ray, and daughter Colleen Lalande.
Sandra was involved in the North Bay TOPS organization (Take off Pounds Sensibly), and later with the North Bay Cardiac Club. Her greatest passion was dancing at social functions, including many events at the Callander Legion.
Sandra is survived by her son Hughie Lalande, niece Shelley Fournier (Andre), and nephews, Sandy Sweezey (Pam), Stacy Sweezey (Joanna), Shawn Sweezey (Cheryl), Sonny Knight, and Jason Sweezey. Her memory lives on with great nieces and nephews, Paige, Liam, Kevin, Tara, Jen and Jessie.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 11am to 1pm at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Road. Lunch will be provided afterwards at Hillside.
