Shawn Foisy (1954–2026)

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Shawn on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, at the age of 71.

Shawn was the loving partner of Karen and a devoted and proud father to Bret (Anne) of Bond Head, ON, and Deanna (Mike) of Woodstock, ON. He was also a cherished honorary father to Adam, Jennifer (Prat), Shawn (Lindsey), and Tyler (Hayley).

He will be deeply missed as a proud grandfather to Henry, Cruz, Emily, Alexis, Leah, Jacob, Abby, Abigail, Jayaa, Priyaa, Rylee, Aubrey, and Noah. His grandchildren were truly the light of his life and brought him endless joy.

Shawn will be sadly missed by his sister Sharron (Herb), as well as his nephews Herbie, Tim (Julie) and Steve and he held a special place as a great-uncle to Ammanda and Matthew.

A true family man, Shawn found great happiness in being surrounded by those he loved. In his earlier years, he dedicated much of his time to coaching his children’s sports teams, often splitting his days between the baseball diamond, soccer field, and hockey arena. He had a passion for baseball, especially playing slo-pitch with the Blue Devils, where he was affectionately known as “Weeble.”

Shawn was also a longtime supporter of local hockey, cheering on the Centennials and later the Battalion. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including dining out and spending meaningful time with family and friends.

Family and friends will be received at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Rd, on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a luncheon to be served.

In keeping with Shawn’s wishes, guests are invited to dress casually. In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated.
