The Solomon family sadly announces the sudden loss of our beloved sister, Teri. She died peacefully at her home and went to meet the Creator on Sunday evening, November 13, 2022.
Teri was born October 1st, 1953, in Little Current Ontario. During her life she made her home in several cities throughout Canada, settling in North Bay in 1996.
Teri was an inspiration to all who knew her with her infectious smile and love of laughter. She served as a Counsellor at Amelia Rising for several years. In addition, Teri volunteered her time to many others. Teri was once told “you’re the best dressed volunteer ever”. She also loved her visits with the Sisters at St. Joseph’s Motherhouse in North Bay. Her love of music had her teaching accordion at the age of 15 and later brought her to sing with the lovely Baytones Harmony Chorus. Teri was an avid reader. In particular, she loved to learn more about Spirituality, Health, and Wellness. As well, she practiced meditation regularly. Teri also cherished her many evening walks along the waterfront, where she took beautiful photos of the sunsets.
Predeceased by her parents Eva (nee Pelletier) and Art Solomon and her brother Don. Teri leaves behind Don’s wife Sue, her sisters and brothers: Raymond (Wilma) and Annette; Sister Priscilla; Sister Eva; Gene and Maureen; Tony; Anne (Hans) and Denny; Genevieve (Norm); Art and Heather; Yvonne (Pit) and Wayne. Teri adored her many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Also feeling the loss are Teri’s Aunt Rita Denis, Aunt Mary Herman and Aunt Margaret Simon and many cousins. We would also like to acknowledge Teri’s former husband of 34 years, Marcel Gravel.
A private family service will be held in North Bay. We anticipate a larger Celebration of Teri’s Life next Spring or Summer.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: The Sister of St. Joseph’s of Sault Marie; The North Bay Indigenous Friendship Center Mental Health and Addictions Program or the Near North Palliative Care Network.
