It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Veronica on Friday August 08, 2025 at the St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto.

Ve leaves behind her loving wife and soulmate Desiree and their fur babies Tass, Sadie, Gypsy and Indica- who brought her endless joy and companionship.

She is deeply missed by her loving mother Carolin Wells, her siblings Rachel, Ethan and Ayden as well as her dear aunt Rosann. Ve will also be sorely missed by Danielle (David), Luc (Jessica), Sophie, Melodie, Jacques, Aimee and Charlotte. Along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, countless friends and colleagues whose lives she touched.

A compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse, Veronica was greatly loved and respected by her peers at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Her kindness, warmth, and empathy were felt by every patient she cared for, and her colleagues knew her not only for her skill, but for her ability to bring comfort, light and be a ray of sunshine in even the most difficult moments.

Outside of work, her heart belonged to nature, she found peace and joy in bird watching, and could often be found exploring the outdoors, living fully in the moment. Her love for music was woven into her life- whether playing guitar, singing with her beautiful voice, or attending concerts with her friends, she had an infectious laughter and a free spirit that drew people close. She leaves this world far too soon, but her love, laughter and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Family will be receiving friends at Hillside Funeral Service, 362 Airport Road, North Bay on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 between 7 until 9 pm and on Thursday, August 14, 2025 between 10 am until 12 pm with her funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm.  The service will be available virtually via this Zoom link.
