Walter Neeley Obituary

It is with profound sorrow that the family of Walter Glen Neeley announces his passing.  Walter (Wally) passed away at 69 years of age on Monday, May 29, 2023 after a courageous 14 year battle with cancer.

He was the loving husband and best friend to Maryanne (McGraw) for over 48 years.  He will be sadly missed by his son, Nicholas (Lindsay); daughter Christyann Oshell (Luke).  Loving Papa to Cole, Caleb; Lily, Adley and Maitlyn.

He will be missed dearly by his siblings: Peggy Lemieux (Robert deceased), Sharon and John (Donna). He will be missed by his in-laws: Don (Sue), Ron (Marie), Gerry (Preston), Nikki (Dell), Lise (Michel); and his great friends.

He will be met on the other side by his parents, Alver Graves and Mary Violet (St. John); as well as his brothers, Roger (Linda), Howard (Lorraine) and Gerald (Darlene).

Walter was a North Bay Police Service constable for 25 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends over a good meal, playing games, and good conversation. He was a great storyteller and those who loved him were fortunate to hear tales of his time serving his community.  Travelling was his favourite past time and he was always thrilled to be on the go.

Thank you to his entire health care team and especially Dr. Andrew Spencer and Sandy Gallant.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 3rd at the Elks Club, North Bay.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Prostate Cancer Canada or P.A.D.D.L.E.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
