Mathieu, Wilfred (1934-2025)

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces his passing surrounded by family at Casselholme Home for the Aged on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025 at the age of 91 years.

Wilfred will be sorely missed by his wife Anne Robb-Mathieu. He was the proud father of Katherine Brian (Guy), Christine Mathieu, Edward Mathieu, Karen Mathieu (Raymonde), Paul Mathieu (Linda), Keith Mathieu (Natalie), Tim Robb (Lesley) and Joe Robb (Lyne).

He will be fondly remembered by his 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Wilfred is survived by one brother Roland Mathieu (Brenda predeceased) and one sister Phyllis Mathieu.

Wilfred was predeceased by his parents Emile and Florence Mathieu, his first wife Patricia Charland in 2001 and his siblings Kievin Mathieu (Marilyn), Anita Latour (Jack-predeceased) and Elaine Mitchel (Buz- predeceased).

Wilfred was a dedicated, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to many. He was a gentle, kind soul, down to earth fella with a whistle and smile for everyone to remember. He was an avid hunter for many years and loved the great outdoors.

As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday April 30th at 10 am at St Mary's Cemetery.

Donations in his memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the North Bay Regional Health Centre- Cancer Care.
