Yvette Marie Fournier

Fournier, Yvette Marie (1936-2024)

Yvette passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Wednesday August 21, 2024 at the age of 88 years.

She was born and raised in Chapleau. Loving sister of René Fournier (Nan Hornass) of West Vancouver, B.C. and Thérèse Smortchevsky (Nicholas) of Kelowna, B.C. Also survived by many devoted nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her twin sister Georgette Kitchen and by her other siblings Yvon Fournier, Yvonne Kohls and Jean-Claude Fournier.

Yvette was fortunate to be a resident of the St Joseph’s Motherhouse apartments for over 16 years and could be seen walking on the grounds rain, shine or snow.

A heartfelt thank you to Sister Lorraine Giroux for her support and compassion given to Yvette over the years. Also thanks to Holly Craig her personal support worker who took very good care of Yvette.

A prayer vigil will be held at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Rd, on Thursday August 22nd at 7 pm. Father René Perron officiating.

Donations in memory of Yvette to the St Joseph’s Motherhouse will be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
